Male-es Two screens video Director: Caterina Pecchioli Performer: Marie Goeminne Duration: 2’55” Year: 2009 This work refers in particular to a new type of violence that occurred in the last years especially betweeen adolescents. It is a violence not used with ideological or utilitaristic reasons, but in a spectacular and meaningless way to attract attention. The attack is often coming back against the instigators themselves, take for example the cases of Colombine School and Paris suburbs. The Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Zizek defines this violence “Id-Evil”, in Italian: “Male-Es”, title of the video.
